At last a use for all those annoying CD roms that get shoved through your letter box! Suspended on a peice of string above your precious plants, their shinyness makes them excellent bird scarers. And you thought AOL was only useful for l33t kiddies!
I've been messing around with an old site this week; D7's Domain, my old Worlds 3d chat site that got pulled down when I became disillusioned with 'net chat. I deleted the Worlds player off my HD, but will go back on when I get ADSL, which wont be long now!
Ive got a few new ideas for it and hopefully I can finish off the avatar tutorials which didnt get done on the old version. Its using a similar layout to this site and also using CSS and SSI, so it will look better than before! The new link will be posted here when its all ready. ![]()
Just how slow can BT go?? 4800 bps was just how bad it got. This was a couple of months ago mind, and I have had 2300 I think once, but never captured it for prosperity. Anyway, I'm getting Broadband soon
.
Now, heres the nice new navigation system with javascript pull down menus. Certainly looks better than the 'just thrown together' look this site had previously! OH! and a nice new coffee colour scheme and new logo. Ive also buggered up the forum trying to upgrade to version 2.1 of phpBB and lost all the headings. But there was only one post on there (and that was by me lol) so there was no real loss.. just a pain to have to go back to the old version.
I recieved the following email from a site promotion company immortalising the last days of the old layout.. for it was around that fateful time that the site Black Coffee recieved its new look and thus the old one was laid to rest....lol.
Well, I've submitted the site to some search engines in the last 3 weeks namely Yahoo, Google, AH-HA, All the Web and DMOZ and will hopefully some more in the next couple of weeks. Most of the time has been spent making a nice little pulldown navigation using Javascript (not DHTML just yet lol, cos I'm not that good at it), and a new colour scheme which will soon be implemented with out any disruption to the site as its all done by SSI and CSS
. When I get that bit sorted I will concentrate on adding more content.
